Cultivate Your Inner Fire
Women’s Winter Immersion

13-15 December 2024
Brighton, Ontario, Canada

Immersion no longer running!

Due to unexpected circumstances, we are no longer able to run this December Women’s Immersion and invite you to get on Emma’s newsletter to be the first to hear about the 2025 Women’s Immersions. If you are interested in working together 1:1 or in groups with your friends, get in touch.

A weekend to remember.

A recharging and powerful weekend for women to gather and tend to their inner flame through a range of practices, workshops, and a cleansing Ayurvedic diet.

On the final full moon of 2024, we gather on the cusp of Winter holiday season to pause. As we sink into the darkness of Winter, we reflect on the year gone by, release what no longer serves us, rekindle our inner fire, and renew our True Nature.

Emma Chow and Jordan Roberts created this Women’s Winter Immersion as a place to experience an antidote to the typical busyness, exhaustion, and sometimes illness that we often experience over the holidays. Winter calls us inwards into the dark, quiet, depth of yin energy. And here, at the Lotus Heart Centre, we gather to light our own internal fire and tend to it, so it can burn bright all through winter.

Designed to balance your yin and yang energy, this 2-night/ 3-day experience allows you to drop out of your head and into your body.

Living closely with nature, we’ll move through an arc of thoughtfully-curated activities and metabolise 2024 as we prepare for the year ahead. In a community of like-minded women, we reclaim our inner fire, and share practices to regulate our digestive and nervous systems during the powerful energies of this seasonal shift from Fall to Winter.

Where we’ll
be staying

This sacred space is steeped in Nature, guarded by ancient willow trees. It is an ideal place to deepen your connection with Nature and yourself. Let Nature restore you.

The Lotus Heart Centre is complete with a wood burning stove in the yoga room, outdoor fire pit, bright community kitchen, quiet lounging areas, fresh air, and (fingers crossed) lots of star- and full-moon-gazing.

Carpooling will be coordinated prior to the Immersion.

“A nourishing weekend spent in the presence of supportive feminine energy. I left feeling relaxed, renewed and inspired.”

~ Sept 2024 Cultivate Rest & Digest immersion participant

“Emma and Jordan's Immersion unlocked something deep within my (sub)consciousness that I had always longed to tap into… I came away feeling renewed, with a clear sense of purpose after nearly three years having lost touch with my own intuition. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

Meet your guides

You’ll be in good hands with Emma and Jordan, experienced teachers and space-holders with professional corporate backgrounds with a passion for creating transformative immersions that weave together science and spirituality. They met during their yoga teacher training in Guatemala and cannot wait to share this unique and special weekend with you.

  • Emma is dedicated to inspiring systems-change, from the inside-out.

Originally from Canada, she started her career in corporate consulting at Deloitte LLP, before coming to England in 2018 to work at the cutting edge of sustainability and global food systems change. After recovering from a major burnout in 2022, Emma has come to believe a radically better future depends on our collective journey of ‘inner-regeneration’.

She draws from her multifaceted experience as a meditation teacher, yoga nidra guide, regenerative designer, and artist to create accessible and effective practices for people to find peace amongst the chaos and become conscious leaders for a flourishing tomorrow. Emma also shares the ancient medicine of cacao from Guatemala.

Her training includes 200hr yoga teacher training, 1 Giant Mind advanced meditation teacher training, yoga nidra guide training with Jana Roemer, Authentic Relating Technique L1, Cacao Source Online Course, Somatic Embodiment and Regulation Strategies with Linda Thai.

  • Jordan spent 8 years of postgraduate study diving deep into the study of the earth, obtaining a B.Sc. in Earth & Planetary Sciences from the University of Western Ontario and M.Sc. in Geological Sciences at the University of British Columbia.

In 2022, following burnout and a sudden health scare from a tick bite, she left her corporate job as a Geologist in search of a new path based in holistic practices to heal the mind, body, and soul.

Since leaving the corporate world behind, she’s travelled to 10 countries learning a variety of holistic healing practices. During this time, she completed 150 hrs Ayurvedic Integrative Nutrition Counseling training, 500-hours of Yoga Teacher Training (in Guatemala & India), and 17-day immersive Inner Dance meditation training (Philippines).

Her desire is to help bridge gaps between science and spirituality — creating safe spaces for people to share, learn, and experience new and ancient healing modalities together in community. Jordan is passionate about spreading knowledge about these topics to help others remember that they are their own guide and healer.

Hippocrates

“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food”

We look forward to sharing a cleansing Ayurvedic menu of nutrient-dense, organic, and local foods with you.

Join us on a journey to balance your digestive and nervous system health as we enter this holiday season, and welcome the New Year together!

Explanation of Practices

  • Hatha, vinyasa, and yin style yoga sessions designed to cleanse and regulate the nervous system.

  • A style of laying-down meditation that is directed by a diverse soundtrack journey that leads to a unique state of consciousness. This allows for the participant to activate new neural pathways in their brain, by co-activation of parasympathetic and sympathetic simultaneously.

  • Also known as “yogic sleep”, Yoga Nidra is a laying-down guided meditation where we have a rare opportunity to access our subconscious minds and upgrade outdated belief systems while bringing the body into a state where profound healing can occur.

  • Various breathing techniques will be incorporated into sessions to assist with the intention of the session. Mantra is another powerful way to activate energy centres of the body and tone the vagal nerve, which is a fast-track to regulating the nervous system.

  • A style of meditation practice originating from the teachings of Dr. Joe Dispenza. This form of meditation is designed to relax the body, slow the brain waves, and help you tune into the energy/frequency of the heart. This allows the practitioner to go into a creative state of “heart-brain coherence”, with slower respiratory waves and feelings of emptiness of space, it gives the body a moment to reorder itself and trains the mind towards more feelings of wholeness, clarity, calm, and creativity.

A note on technology & silence: In order to fully embrace the immersive cleansing experience, it is optional to completely disconnect and choose to go technology-free. Jordan and Emma can keep your devices safe for you while you are in the immersion (facilitators’ phone numbers may be given to loved ones in the case of emergency).

Noticing the physiological benefits of both sound and silence is something we would love to emphasise during this immersion. Both sound and silence are medicine. You get the opportunity to truly enjoy both, and learn how to incorporate moments like these in your day-to-day life going forward.

  • Cacao is a sacred medicine that has been used by ancient cultures for 1000s of years to heal the mind and body and open one’s heart. The cacao seeds are harvested, peeled, roasted, and made into a raw 100% pure cacao “paste” all by hand. We will be serving regeneratively-produced fair-trade cacao from a Guatemalan social enterprise. NOTE: cacao is not chocolate, which is made from cocoa, we’ll get into the details of this in the ceremonial cacao workshop.

  • Ancient form of medicine originating from India as far back as ~8,000 years ago. “Ayur” meaning “science” and “veda” meaning life. It focuses on how Ayurveda views the three pillars of life: Ahara (inputs), Nidra (sleep), and Brahamacharya (belief system/mindset), and how to keep these crucial elements of our day-to-day life in balance.

  • Using Ayurvedic principles to balance the elements (i.e., doshas) that are in the body. Typically this style of eating is gently cooked food, with healthy oils, healing spices, & herbs. All meals are designed to be local, seasonal, fresh, easily digestible, and as absorbable as possible to our digestive system and supportive to gut-healing.

  • The land we are staying on is very alive and special. We will use indigenous practices from ancestors to deepen our relationship with, listen to it, and receive its medicine.
